It’s hard to believe that one idea would become this company and this community. None of us ever imagined where Nomadés would take us, and we are amazed every day that we have this opportunity.
We wanted to take a moment and share our stories with you. So, starting from left to right.
That’s Christy DeWitt on the end. Christy is a Marine Spouse. Her husband served for 23 years! She is a mother to 3 grown children, a mother-in-law and a grandmother to two. Christy is the Director of Business Development and Sales. When she isn’t working, Christy enjoys reading, mentoring others and perusing the aisles of Hobby Lobby with her friend Patti. The charm on the bracelet below that represents Christy is the little teardrop camper called “Going Places”. Literally…she is always on the go.
Marijke has been a Marine spouse for over 20 years. She is a mom to 4 grown children. Marijke is the Managing Director of Nomadés and oversees the daily operations of the company. In the little bit of spare time she has, Marijke is a swim coach and a consultant for home renovations. The charm that represents Marijke on the bracelet is the coffee cup. She designed it in 2018 and it’s called “My Cup Runneth Over”. Marijke is very blessed and her cup is full and running over.
Next is Melissa Berris. Melissa is the Director of Products. She is the owner with the coolest job! She develops the amazing concepts for our jewelry and oversees their design and creation. Melissa is a wife of a Marine and they are enjoying the “retired” life in Tennessee. Melissa is a mom to 4 grown children. Currently, her favorite things to do in her spare time watch her son play football. The charm on the bracelet that tells Melissa story best is the suitcase. Melissa’s kids and family are in Michigan and Florida, so she spends a lot of time on the road living out of her suitcase.
Last, but not least is Jennifer Lilly. Jennifer is a military sister-in-law and serves as the Director of Finance for the Nomadés. Jennifer has an extensive background in accounting and taxes. When Jennifer is not bean counting, she enjoys spending time with her 3 grown children. Jennifer loves to travel, hike, dance and has been doing DIY projects in her new home. In 2018 Jennifer designed the Thrive charm on this bracelet; the spacer shaped liked a succulent. You don’t have to just survive, you were made to thrive.
These little charms have made their way around the world, from the desert sands of central Asia to the sunny Pacific Ocean and all the places between. We have seen friends and family celebrate new beginnings- marriages, births, promises of military service. And, the journey’s end- retirements, passing of loved ones, promises of new adventure to come. Through these charms, we are honored to commemorate each of life’s moments, both large and small.
This is our story and we love sharing it, but more than, we love sharing your story.
